The bright time is coming, we have reached the top of the hill of dark hours and are ready to sledging down the hill at full speed towards the summer in a new year.
We have many different ways and traditions to celebrate the end and beginning of the great trip to the next summer. For my part, it has for some years been an absolute highlight to get up early on January 1, bringing bags of our offerings were often soy milk, noodles, drinking water and other goodies that we with great pleasure gave to the monks with 100 ‘view of other people. The New Year evening was fun, but not late, since it was the victim no next day we looked forward to. This idea to start a new year by doing something for others or do something for society, it is quite lovely rather than get pissed and struggle with weak body for several days after.
Now we are in Denmark, without the many temples, beautiful mountains and lovely temperature in January, but the desire to start the new year by doing something a little different sticks.
As when we sat on bambusmåtterne on the purpose-closed road and preparing us to give anything away so it was a nice feeling of freedom, and with a lovely expectation to come home for a cup of coffee and some good Thai street cute cases afterwards.
This year was my “give something to the community” to 4 hours of traffic regulation in the Police Home Guard. Which is not quite the same as the victim of monks, where all are positive, which is not always fully apply to certain types of people who believe that there is something more important than themselves in this world, and just they do not need follow directions.
But the feeling of being together a group of people who want the same, give something of themselves to others and to society, is the same.
It is a great privilege to know and be with people who want to give something of themselves to others – and for us it is the very essence of life … 🙂
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOUR ALL …. 🙂
